He quoted SDG Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.” He extended his appreciation for the program, which brought together experts in education from various countries, and hoped that such scholarly activities would continue sustainably.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the Indonesian Consul General in Hong Kong, Mr. Yul Edison, by the Deputy of KJRI Hong Kong, it was emphasized that education is a crucial element in personal development, the advancement of science, skill-building, and as a simulation ground for social life skills. Furthermore, the Consul General highlighted the importance of holistic education as an integrated competence that spans life skills, livelihoods, and societal living. He stressed the need for education to foster critical thinking, communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, time management, global competency, information literacy, resilience, positive values, and attitudes, including professional ethics, consideration, respect, appreciation, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Prof. Dr. Sofyan Anif, Chairman of ALPTKSI and Rector of UMS, in his opening speech, emphasized to participants the critical role of education in the advancement of civilization. He stated that education should be grounded in the principles of freedom, natural laws, culture, nationality, and humanity, echoing the philosophy of KH Dewantara. Additionally, he stressed that education should produce individuals of character, balanced in knowledge, spiritually grounded, emotionally and socially mature, in accordance with the teachings of KH Ahmad Dahlan. Prof. Sofyan Anif also expressed hope that this program would continue annually, given the valuable outcomes it yields for lecturers and institutions alike.

During the main session of the conference, Prof. Timothy HEW highlighted two key points in developing information technology-based learning: the importance of using instructional videos and the role of student self-regulation in learning. He recommended that educational videos should ideally be no longer than 6 minutes. Additionally, student self-regulation is essential for achieving learning objectives in technology-based education.

The 4th ICEDUALL provided new insights for advancing holistic, information technology-based education.
