ICEDUALL 1st

Kuala Lumpur, 4 April 2023

The First ICEDUALL (The International Conference on Education for All) was held for the first time at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI), No. 233, Jalan Tun Razak, Imbi, 50400 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. This inaugural ICEDUALL was attended by 52 presenters from various universities, who disseminated the results and implementation of the Community Empowerment Program in the form of an International Partnership Community Service (KKN KI) conducted across several Learning Centers (SB) in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Johor.

The First ICEDUALL was officially opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Hermono, accompanied by Prof. M. Firdaus, who was one of the invited speakers and also serves as the Education and Cultural Attaché (Atdikbud) of RI in Kuala Lumpur. In his opening remarks, the Ambassador emphasized the importance of providing education to children in various learning centers or other forms of informal education worldwide, particularly in Malaysia. The PPM KI Program, now in its sixth cohort, has instilled social intelligence, holistic awareness, and collective consciousness about the critical importance of education as the window to the world.

This importance was reaffirmed by Prof. M. Firdaus, who stated that more than 90% of participants rated the program as highly beneficial, eagerly anticipated, and transformative. The program has sparked hope, laid the groundwork for realizing dreams, and established a solid foundation for achieving educational aspirations for children in all learning centers and for children around the world who still lack access to education.

The First ICEDUALL, held on April 4, 2023, was conducted in a hybrid format, partly offline at the Indonesian Embassy and partly online. A total of 38 student presenters and 7 faculty presenters from UMS Surakarta, UM Makassar, UM Mataram, UM Gorontalo, UM Sidoarjo, UM Jember, UM Berau, among others, attended offline at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, 14 other presenters from previous KKN KI cohorts participated online from their respective locations.

The First ICEDUALL Chairman, who is also the Chairman of ALPTK PTMA, Prof. Harun Joko Prayitno, reported that this program is designed to be continuous and based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The PPM KI PTMA program, which has been implemented sustainably, continues to innovate. The innovations generated by the PPM KI PTMA have produced widely recognized and published ideas, featured on platforms like edutren.id, edutalent.id, edukreatif.id, published in nationally ISBN-registered books, and followed up with the establishment of this international conference. The selected papers from The First ICEDUALL will be published in reputable international and national scientific journals or in national-international proceedings.

During the opening of The First ICEDUALL, the Indonesian Ambassador and the Education and Cultural Attaché expressed strong hopes that the PPM KI PTMA program would continue in future periods. The curriculum is designed in a progressive and continuous series to avoid replication from one cohort to the next. This program has already involved students from a broader range of disciplines, including Education, Medicine, Economics, Engineering, Health Sciences, and Natural Sciences, among others. It is expected to foster stronger social intelligence and holistic awareness, both for the SB children in pursuing educational dreams and for the students in developing holistic social talents. Hopefully. Regards, @alptkptma.
